Learning Exchanges

The movement for legal empowerment is thriving on every continent in the world. But too often, we work alone, without benefit of advice or feedback from others.

Our network organizes extended trips where practitioners can meet and learn from each other in person. Through practical, hands-on learning, we will strengthen our movement as a whole.

Legal Empowerment Leadership Course

Our network cultivates a global cadre of leaders who are committed to legal empowerment. Together we study and advance our field’s history, methodology, and evidence.

Each year, a faculty of respected practitioners and academics guide leadership course participants through an in-depth examination of key themes. The participatory curriculum emphasizes peer-to-peer learning through small group work. The course is organized by the Open Society Justice Initiative and Namati in collaboration with Central European University and New York University’s Bernstein Institute.

Virtual Learning

We can’t always meet in person. To help bridge great distances, we develop opportunities to build critical legal empowerment skills virtually.

Our regular webinars explore topics of particular interest to our community. We host the world’s largest online library of resources for legal empowerment practitioners. Our online discussion forum helps members to make connections with fellow practitioners, share resources, seek advice, and discuss pressing issues.
