I have been in the development sector for the past 19 years and my key focus has been contributing in communities discourse in addressing socio-economic challenges. By joining the network I am aiming at learning from colleagues and ordinary citizens from different countries strategies in advancing the struggles of the poor and vulnerable for a better world. I have come to realize as a development practitioner that in unity we have power that transcends boundaries and as individuals, we are territorial and naïve. The latter has destroyed a just and equal world that we all aspire. Justice, equality and the realisation of rights can never be achieved if we continue to be comfortable in our racial, religious and gender divides. In my language there is a saying that says " umntu ngumntu ngabantu" which simply means we are connected as human beings. This connection is that which goes beyond these divides but recognizes the power and values of each and everyone of us regardless of our status
