Sometimes in may 2014, Sierra Leone welcomed the emergence of a mysterious hemorrhagic fever which was the Ebola Virus Diseases , Richard as an internship student joined the Nationwide fight with Water Sanitation and Hygiene Network(WASH-Net) Sierra Leone as volunteer working with young people and communities. He started developing innovative and inspiring Response and post-Ebola approaches and projects to stop bring an end to the hazard and help young people and survivors who lost family members to cope with the effects of the complex emergency through psycho-social counselling and constant dialogue.
Richard Nelson Caulker is Global Peace Ambassador, youth development activist and social entrepreneur based in Sierra Leone. As he serves in various capacities in post-war Sierra Leone, Richard is the program associate of the national youth-led organization; the Youth Partnership for Peace and Development - an organization that was born after the decade-long civil war in Sierra Leone. And a Country Coordinator in an international Youth-led volunteers organisation Climate Smart Agriculture Network.
Having represented his fellow young people at various levels, he is the Sierra Leonean Youth Representative to the African Youth in Livestock Fisheries and Aquaculture Incubation Network . Richard is an explicit example of an emerging leader and change agent because of his character of peace, his relentless efforts to redeem youth from the culture of violence and his dedication to using education and capacity building Trainings as a tool to capacitate fellow youths with the intellectual wherewithal to be productive.
