Damalie Naggita-Musoke

Dr. Naggita-Musoke is a Senior Lecturer, School of Law, Makerere University with over 25 years experience of higher education legal training and research, from 1993 at Makerere University. She is Dean Emeritus and has previously served as Inaugural Principal of the School of Law. She has served as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Law as well as Head of the Department of Law and Jurisprudence. She is a member of the School of Law Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee. She is an advocate of all courts of Judicature in Uganda and a partner in Mubiru-Musoke, Musisi & Co. Advocates. She sits on various Committees and Boards at and outside the University. Dr. Naggita-Musoke currently chairs the Legal Aid Advisory Board of the Uganda Law Society and is the Chancellor of Mukono Diocese (Anglican), where she provides pro bono legal services to the Bishop and Diocese of Mukono. Dr. Naggita-Musoke has various academic and research interests, in the areas of Gender and Women’s rights, Children’s rights and juvenile justice, Disability rights, as well as procedural law and land rights. She is currently Coordinator of the Disability Law and Rights Centre (DLRC) and leading an ongoing project titled “Promoting Disability Rights Through Legal Education” at the School of Law, mainly to build capacity of faculty of the School and eventually the law graduates to interface with disability issues, while at the same time assisting the rest of the University to provide disability inclusive teaching and learning .
