Originally from the small town of Rowe, New Mexico, Deyla has interned at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva, Switzerland and has been a student research consultant for the International Committee of the Red Cross United Kingdom. While an undergraduate, she served as the assistant to the Associate Dean at Whittier College for four years. Deyla holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, and French from Whittier College and a master’s degree in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies from the London School of Economics.
