I have more than 10 years experience in non-profit and community work with a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Development and a Juris Doctor from the University of the Philippines.

In the last five years, I have been working as a lawyer as well as the Coordinator of the Mindanao office of the Alternative Legal Assistance Center (SALIGAN), a member of the Alternative Law Groups (ALG) in the Philippines. I have been performing legal services to SALIGAN’s target sectors such as women, the urban poor, workers, peasants, and local partner communities.

My work in SALIGAN includes legal and community consultations, policy advocacy in local legislation work, and drafting of bills as proposal to national advocacy work. I have also conducted paralegal trainings and information-education-campaigns (IECs) regarding laws and have contributed to research and publication of materials related to the law and programs.

I am currently involved in local (primarily in Mindanao) issues such as Moro and indigenous peoples, peace initiatives, and the environment. In the region (Asia, South East Asia), I am an advocate for issues such as women leadership in peace and security as well as women’s rights in general.
