I had my degree in Social work, because I was convinced that the discrimination and injustices that people experience are due to power dynamics that craft our societies. As a social worker and as a feminist, I recognize that oppressed and underprivileged groups have long been denied access to resources and information which makes almost impossible to counter the power imbalance between the oppressed and the oppressor. But I also acknowledge that the world we exist in today is not what it used to be, and all oppressive systems and dynamics are bound to change. I believe that this would happen when the oppressed and underprivileged groups become aware of these dynamics and have access to tools and resources that will help them change these dynamics.
