Lara Wallis, an admitted attorney, has worked across a range of areas of human rights law at non-profit organisations in South Africa and as a judicial clerk at the Constitutional Court of South Africa. As a Bertha Fellow at the Legal Resources Centre -- South Africa's largest human rights clinic, Wallis worked across the fields of refugee law, housing rights, equality and non-discrimination, environmental law, customary law and land rights. Wallis then went on to take up a research position in the Corporate Accountability and Transparency Programme at the Centre for Environmental Rights. Wallis holds both an LL.B. and LL.M. from the University of Cape Town, and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School where she was named a Human Rights Fellow. As a 2019-2020 recipient of the Columbia Law School Global Public Service Fellowship, Wallis has joined EarthRights International's Myanmar office as a Legal Fellow.
