Leisha is an experienced executive who specialises in capacity development in justice portfolios and public-sector administration.

Leisha commenced her career in child protection, supporting children and families in protective care in Queensland, Australia. She was later employed by the Department of Health where she was responsible for the coordination and leadership of a state-wide community health service. A senior leadership role that saw her mentor and lead a vast number of staff as well as contribute to policy development and operational management of health programs directed toward marginalised and vulnerable groups.

Leisha later graduated with a Juris Doctor, University of Canberra and completed her Graduate Diploma in Applied Law and a Master of Criminology and Criminal Law with First Class Honours.

Her recent experience is in federal courts administration at an executive level where she had a 17-year track record of results in courts administration, improving access to justice for women and children, as well as community, civil society and stakeholder engagement.

Leisha has also focussed on capacity development in the justice sector where she has spent the past 14 years working to strengthen justice institutions to uphold the rule of law, improve access to justice for vulnerable groups including women and children survivors of violence, and people living with disability in the Asia and Pacific region. Leisha’s leadership and executive management is supported by a Graduate Diploma of Business.
