I am Marc Jacquinet, PhD in economics and professor at UAb and I teach various subjects in the areas of economics and management.

I am a research member of CIEO (University of Algarve) and I collaborate with CLEPUL (U. de Lisboa) on problems related to the management of organizations, critical studies of management and sustainability, themes of economic and social development.

My research interests focus on the issue of development (including its sustainable component or lack thereof) and the functioning of organizations, such as companies, from a sustainability perspective. In this perspective, I highlight the role of institutions as standards, regulation and values. I also value a historical perspective on the studied phenomena. Finally, I have recent research on African studies.

I am preparing, together with an Italian-Mozambican colleague, a special issue on land grabbing in Africa (land grabbing, as they say in Brazil, land grabbing in English and accaparement de terres in French, especially in Africa). It is a global phenomenon.
