Nathalie is a Senior Program Officer at the Regional Community Forestry Training Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RECOFTC), based in Bangkok, Thailand. Her interest lies in sharing experiences and learning from successful initiatives around the world on involving local people in the management of natural resources.

She has a legal background and provides advice on community forestry and inclusive participation in decision-making, amongst others, in the region. She gives technical support to the participation of NGOs and indigenous people and local communities' representatives to forest processes (VPAs, REDD+). She also conducts action research in those areas. Her areas of focus are communities rights to natural resources, land tenure, benefit sharing, legal logging and forest conversion.

She previously worked as a Senior Law and Policy adviser at ClientEarth, implementing forest governance projects in West and Central Africa and providing support to CSOs to engage in legal reforms and strengthen communities' rights. Nathalie also coordinated research on community forestry and carried out legal empowerment activities to gain a greater (legal) recognition of communities forest rights.

In the past past, Nathalie advised various institutions and NGOS, such as the UN Peacekeeping Operation in Côte d’Ivoire (UNOCI), the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), or the African Wildlife Foundation, where she focused on human rights, the rule of law, access to justice and gender issues.

She holds an LLM in International and European Law from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and a Masters in Public International Law from the University of Paris II Assas.
