Hello. I'm Rakesh Karna, and am associated with Support Nepal which works strategically to address the inequalities and discrimination faced by the minority and marginalized groups in Nepal since 1996. My role is to provide strategic advise, guidance and support to the organization in policy dialogue, design of the advocacy campaigns and capacity building initiatives. As Nepal is a country of minorities, both by number and the experiences, a majority of the national population faces different sets of stigma and exclusion people face due to their identity based on language, religion, sex and caste/ethnicity. I think it is important that organization like ours, who often remain off the mainstream, can benefit a lot from the platform like NAMATI. This is so by joining a family of dedicated and devoted individuals and organizations who share not just the stories and practices but also the experience due to the lack of justice, and lawlessness in their lives. In addition, we may have differences in the origin, geography or language that we speak, but we all strive for a movement for justice that is just for all and not for the few.
