Action for Development and Research (ADR)

ADR is based in Somalia. Our mission is to use research findings in designing programs that will address related issues.

Presence in: Somalia
Focus: Community / Customary Land Rights, Governance, Accountability & Transparency, Peace-building & Transitional Justice, Traditional / Customary Justice, Women's Rights

Action for Development and Research (ADR) has rich, widespread and relevant experience in the delivery of research programs, monitoring and evaluation services and capacity development to donor-supported projects. We thrive to reinforce our position as an international point of reference for supporting research, baseline information, land dispute reconciliation and land ownership procedures.

ADR focuses to promote positive changes in divided societies affected by decades of conflict, and the ever more hazardous effects of climate change.  Languishing in a chronic state of emergency with limited options, achieving lasting solutions towards development in such societies can be stimulated through inclusive stability and resilience. Therefore, we identify pathways that are based on direct, intimate knowledge of the context, its actors, their politics and the underlying economic and social dynamics.

This understanding enables us to safely operate in volatile environments and define ways to build new and improving livelihoods, and widening access to justice. We further encourage the coherence and impact of international support as an essential component in promoting stability. Hence, producing outcomes of a durable character with lasting impact.
