ATUDIS (Agency for Turkana Development Initiatives) is an independent registered Community Based, Civil society organization, a non-profit organization based in Lodwar -Turkana County. The prime motto is capacity building, Community empowerment and service delivery to the deprived and marginalized people of Turkana County. ATUDIS started in 2014 as CBO. ATUDIS transitioned from CBO status (2014) to a Non-Governmental Organization in Sep 2022.

The main goal of ATUDIS to contribute towards improved standards of living for ASAL communities of Kenya by the year 2030. ATUDIS Envisions a community with no-one living in poverty, accessing decent standards, opportunities and choices essential to a long, healthy and creative life. The main objective of ATUDIS is to develop programmes focusing on sustainable development, so as to alleviate poverty, disease, hunger, illiteracy, water shortage, conflicts, unemployment and other basic human needs in the Community.

Main Objectives of ATUDIS

1.)To Ensure effective services delivery in areas of Environment and Land Rights as per the constitution of Kenya 2010 and the subsequent legislative, regulatory and policy frameworks

2) To increase Household food security and income through diversified sustainable livelihood activities and enhanced security

3)  To decrease the burden of communicable diseases in the Turkana community through increased access and provision of safe and clean drinking water and improved sanitation & hygiene.

4)  To strengthen the ability of local structures to address causes of conflict or violence and promote sustainable peace and reconciliation in Turkana

5.  To contribute to increased equitable access to quality Basic and Alternative Education Systems amongst girls and boys from segments of the community in Turkana
