AIDS-Free World is an international advocacy organization that addresses systematic injustice, discrimination, abuse and inequality–the roots that underpin epidemics of HIV around the world. Through high-level advocacy, in-depth research, policy analysis, strategic communications, and creative legal approaches, we tackle the institutionalized social ills that allowed HIV to gain traction in the 1980s and continue to sustain its spread more than three decades later. Our latest work has included: the Code Blue Campaign aimed at eliminating impunity for UN personnel who perpetrate sexual abuse; advocating for the ILO to include labour performed by girls in illegal child “marriages” in child labour statistics; pushing to use universal jurisdiction to prosecute politically motivated sexual violence that occurred Zimbabwe; support for HIV criminalization cases around the world; and holding Legal Consultation Centers at international AIDS conferences to provide delegates and members of the public with free informal consultations with volunteer attorneys regarding HIV and human rights related challenges they face at home.
