Alliance for Empowering Rural Communities (AERC), is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation committed to empowering local communities to develop innovative solutions for the developmental challenges in Ghana and Africa.  Through empowerment programmes, training, research, advocacy and community development in the areas of environment and community based natural resource governance and rural development, local communities are able to build resilience and adapt to the changes in developmental situations in the country.

The mission of Alliance for Empowering Rural Communities is to empower to local communities to build resilience to changing global crisis and adapt local actions to achieve sustainable development.

Our vision is to see empowered communities with enhanced capacities to address community challenges with developed potentials for self-reliance.

Our objectives is as follows;

1. To facilitate the engagement of local communities with engagement tools to help build broad-based inclusive support for policy improvements.
2. To mobilize communities and empower them to address their development challenges to improve the wellbeing of its people.
3. To promote active participation of local communities in stimulating an all-inclusive equitable sustainable development.
4. To support the transformation of vulnerable people and communities through integrated community development approaches to sustainable development.
