Working in areas of community mobilization
Neetu Pokharel is the Program Officer at Alliance for Social Dialogue ( ASD) responsible for facilitating grant making and providing strategic support to the partners of Women's Rights Program, and Access to Justice Program in Nepal. Neetu supports the work of national and community based organizations to promote women's rights and access to justice of the poor and marginalized groups. She also has been engaged in policy advocacy, collaboration with the government and research related to access to justice and legal identity in Nepal. She also works to empower the community paralegals that facilitate marginalized groups for their access to justice and legal identity documents. Neetu holds her Masters in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies (CPDS) from University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. By joining this network Neetu is looking for sharing and exchanging the experiences , learning from other country experience, discussing about the new ideas, any problems , challenges and create a joint solidarity and commitment for the access to justice and legal empowerment of the people. I take it as a good opportunity to create a movement on legal empowerment not specifically in the country but at the global level as well.
