ALCHA is a committed NGO active in community capacity building that exists to serve marginalized and resource-poor pastoralist communities in Marsabit county of Northern kenya  and Borena zone of Oromia reional state in democratic republic of Ethiopia.  It was first registered in Kenya under registration certicate number OP.218/051/11-0868/7751. 

Vision: “Empowered pastoralist communities that sustainably utilize their resources”.

Mission: is “To facilitate sustainable development of the pastoralist communities through access to quality Basic education, Civic education and Democratic Governance, integrated Health and nutrition management, Environmental conservation, Peace building and Livelihoods and entrepreneurship development”.

RECOGNITIONS, MERITS AND AWARDS: ALCHA has won many awards/recognitions:-

November 2012: “Best Performing CSO” award for best implementation of access to justice project.

November 2014: “Best Performing CSO, 1st Runners up” award in access to justice

“Jattani Wario: Exemplary service to Civil Society from 2013-2014”  award

I was born on 5th October 1974 in Damballa Fachana village of Obbu division in Sololo district, Moyale sub-county, Marsabit county. I am the founder of local NGO Alliance of Local Communities in hardship Areas (ALCHA). I am a human rights defender agitating for the rights of the poor and marginalized pastoralist communities of Marsabit county of Northern Kenya.

i also implement access to justice and realization of human rights for the poor and the marginalized, peace and gender empowerment programs. I have won three awards namely-:

-November 2012: “Best Performing CSO” National award during the 4th Annual Civil Society week held in Eldoret for superb implementation of access to justice project
-November 2014: “Best Performing CSO, 1st Runners up in Access to Justice Project” award during the 6th Annual Civil Society Week held in Diani, Kwale county.
-November 2014: “Exemplary Service to CSO from 2013-2014” Award during the 6th Annual Civil Society Week held in Diani, Kwale.

I am PHILIP LENGAITOLE a native of Samburu County specifically Samburu north Constituency Ndoto Ward. I completed a 3years course in Diploma in Information Communication Technology(ICT) at Railway Training Institute Nairobi Main Campus at South B.
I am a mature, hardworking, self-motivated, and reliable and result oriented individual. I possess good communication skills, a pleasant personality, and ability to multitask, ability to prioritize care and make effective decisions. I desire to obtain a meaningful and challenging position that will enable me to offer holistic ICT services, learn and gain practical knowledge and skills for the benefit of the organization and self.
I also practice utmost professionalism, integrity, loyalty and strive for continued excellence in my work. I am a person of unquestionable integrity, dynamic and analytical problem solver who strongly believe in quality of the services. I have the strength of good a time manager which has always enabled me to deliver before the set deadlines. I take pride in excellent communication skills both verbal and written and a flexible mind to new ideas and changes that may occur in future.
Am an ICT Graduate and competent individual who has proficiency in the Database Management system and Data communication and Networking. QuickBooks and other application software. My well understanding of the fund, self-help groups in the region coupled with my rich knowledge of the area will in a better way enable me to deliver with ease.
In my professional journey I have served well in the projects such as CENCUS under KNBS that greatly involve the local communities in Samburu North constituency where I hail from. Am very passionate and committed towards gender equality as a youth advocate in my area. Through this, I have been immensely enriched with the audacity and discretion to easily mobilize community members.
