We campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all

Presence in: Argentina, Peru
Focus: Community / Customary Land Rights, Gender-based violence, Land & Natural Resources, Women's Rights

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who take injustice personally. We are campaigning for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all.
We are funded by members and people like you. We are independent of any political ideology, economic interest or religion. No government is beyond scrutiny. No situation is beyond hope.

Few would have predicted when we started that torturers would become international outlaws. That most countries would abolish the death penalty. And seemingly untouchable dictators would be made to answer for their crimes.

I campaign on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights issues in the Americas with Amnesty International, focusing in particular on Indigenous People's rights related to land and natural resources and sexual and reproductive rights. We do not currently have a specific line of work related to grassroots legal empowerment, however I would like to explore the possibility of integrating such an approach into some of our campaigns in order to enhance their impact and sustainability.

I'm a lawyer keen on human rights, LGBTI issues, and youth. I recently joined Amnesty International Argentina as Youth Responsible. Since 2014 I've been a legal activist in an Argentinian organization called Abogad*s por los Derechos Sexuales (AboSex - www.abosex.com.ar). As a legal activist in AboSex, we stand for a critical and creative exercise of law, this entails undertaking administrative and judicial actions, drawing up draft regulations, networking with other organizations, and other work involving an interpellation in different spheres of government to achieve the recognition of LGBTI rights.
I believe that professional practice cannot be disconnected from the circumstances in which it occurs, and should contribute to making visible the unequal and unjust structures that cross society.
