AnnieCannons transforms survivors of human trafficking into software professionals.

Presence in: United States
Focus: Education, Gender-based violence, Livelihoods

To create an ecosystem built to support human trafficking survivors thriving in technology, including: (1) a software development shop offering contract-based web development, app development, quality assurance testing, and data management services, which pays direct income to survivors for tech work and generates a modest commission for the organization to support and grow additional classes of survivors, (2) a community of technical professionals dedicated to helping survivors build technical solutions to problems survivors identify with, and (3) teaching operations with high-touch, individualized tech skills instruction that prioritizes employing students as instructors in the future.  With this strategic infrastructure, we believe we can begin to dismantle the global human trafficking infrastructure (driven in large part by poverty and discrimination) with the economic power we deliver to survivors.

I am the CEO of AnnieCannons, which transforms survivors of human trafficking into software professionals. I am also an attorney and entrepreneur running a solo legal practice in the Bay Area. After earning a BA and Master’s from Emory University and attending Stanford Law School, I worked at Latham & Watkins LLP and Dickstein Shapiro LLP, advising internet, cloud, and digital media companies on general commercial matters, with a particular focus on privacy issues, IP management, and distribution strategies. She previously served as General Counsel at Stride Health, Inc., where she also served in an operations role. Her legal practice specializes in e-commerce and privacy law in the Bay Area, where she works to guide tech startups through their lifecycle with profitable responsibility. But her life is AnnieCannons, the software it builds, and the hidden figures it works to bring into the light. We seek strategic partnerships to make that work stronger.
Jessica Hubley is the network champion (main point of contact) for AnnieCannons.
