BETTER LEGAL SERVICES LAW FIRM is the full-service law firm founded by Me Enos NSENGIYUMVA to provide general practice of legal services and stand up for the rights of its clients.

But due to the problem of poverty, some of our clients are not able to get the money to pay for the lawyers which makes them unable to get justice. It is in this context that we set up a Pro bono unit to help the vulnerable in need of justice services. The objective is to provide legal aid services to eligible vulnerable people throughout Rwanda, for little or no cost.

We plan the implementation of pro bono activities by undertaking a Justice for Vulnerable  Program (JFVP) that will focus on delivering legal aid services to eligible vulnerable and Community Law Education Program (CLEP) that will focus on community education about laws that affect them.

Mission

The mission of the Pro bono unit is to promote equal access to justice in providing legal aid services to vulnerable and low-income people. Through legal advice, advocacy, court representation, community legal training, and Law clinic, eligible individuals will be allowed to free hearing and assistance from lawyers.

Vision

BETTER LEGAL SERVICES LAW FIRM Pro bono unit vision is to build a sustainable and effective Pro bono system to help the needy and the underprivileged get access to justice for free and build a community that knows laws that affect them.

Objectives

Our Pro bono unit shall have the following objectives:

  • Increase the number of vulnerable and low-income people who receive free legal advice and representation.
  • Increase the number of people who know laws that affect them.
