The rule of law and access to justice are the forces that determine whether people can meaningfully exercise their rights. Our mission is to help these principles thrive around the world so that justice is applied fairly and consistently.

Working in partnership with overseas partners, governments, and private donors, we harness the deep expertise and passion of our volunteer lawyers to shape programs that deliver real and lasting results and improve the lives of people and communities. Our work focuses on access to justice and legal aid, legal institution building, improving the administration of justice and legislative development and policy reform.

Over more than 30 years, the CBA has successfully completed projects in Asia, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Caribbean.

I am the Project Manager of the Young Lawyers International Program at the Canadian Bar Association. My past experience includes representing survivors of domestic violence in court, and defending youth charged under the Criminal Code. I have experience in trauma-informed lawyering, project management, family law and criminal defense in the poverty law sector.
