CERC is an independent non-partisan and non-profit organization that empowers citizens, through education and civic engagement, to build transparency and accountability in the DR Congo.

CERC empowers citizens to fight corruption by building integrity. Our team helps young people to develop ideas – and the communities around them – that can make decision-makers more responsible.

We provide our “community monitors” with training, networking and ICT technical support. This helps them create high-impact across their communities through community awareness raising on corruption and public services and infrastructure projects monitoring.

CERC was registered by the Ministry of Jusitice under Registration Certificate No JUST.112/DP-SK/CA/5258/2017 and Notarial Act  No JUST.113/DP-SK/CC/005/2017 of November 09, 2017  and accredited by the Governor of South Kivu under No 01/432/CAB/GOUPRO-SK/2017 as of  25 November 2017.

Heri Bitamala is an anti-corruption activist passionate about the role of civil society in promoting integrity and accountability. Heri have a strong track record in implementing conflict transformation, social cohesion and peacebuilding and integrity building programs. Extensive experience in programme development, governance, peacebuilding and anti-corruption issues for local SCOs.

Current Executive Director of Centre de Recherche sur l'Anti-Corruption (CERC), Heri have a passion for integrity building, anti-corruption and community engagement. I work with youths and CSOS on anti-corruption strategy, planning and problem solving, and help them to develop skills and knowledge through a variety range of training programs and workshops.
Heri Bitamala is the network champion (main point of contact) for Centre de Recherche sur l’Anti-Corruption (CERC).
