Centre for Youth and Development (CYD) is a local child, youth and women focused development organization, which was established in the year 2012 and was registered in 2013 as a company limited by guarantee registration number 13291 to facilitate positive and sustainable change for children, youth and women in Malawi. CYD is growing and evolving into an efficient and effective Non-Governmental Development Organization in Malawi.

The Vision of Centre for Youth and Development is a society which allows every marginalized person to grow and develop to their full potential. The Mission of CYD is to facilitate the empowerment of marginalized persons, their families, communities and work/collaborate with the government to provide them with the best environment for sustainable development

“The Centre for Youth and Development (CYD) facilitates the development projects through partnering with community organizations, youth organizations, schools, policy makers, funders, and others to create programs and advocate for policies that encourage and enable positive and sustainable development.

Centre for Youth and Development has developed an impressive project management profile in managing grant funded and self-financed projects in thematic areas of Education; Health, water and sanitation; Food, nutrition and Income Security; Democracy and Governance; Environment and Climate Change Management; and ICT for Development.

Currently Centre for Youth and Development is implementing development projects in Mzimba, Chitipa, Karonga, Rumphi and Nkhatabay, Mzuzu, Kasungu, Dowa, Lilongwe, Zomba, Mangochi and Machinga districts.
