Character First Initiative Uganda (CFIU) is a nonprofit, non-government, youth founded Community based organisation established in 2017 in Kalungu District registered with Registration Number KDLG/1059/20

Our Vision is to create a world where every person is able to impact and contribute to each other’s livelihood all backed with aggregate sustainability.

Our mission is to empower communities with knowledge, practical skills and information needed to live meaningful, healthy and productive lives through building character and competence needed for success.

Our foundation is positivity, service, guiding and supporting others while trying to solve problems and come with new solutions. Our Programs and activities are designed based on that and our drive of Belonging to Good Character and sowing a seed for mentor-ship.

The activities of the organization target improving the lives of the underprivileged through Livelihoods & Skills Development, Behavioral Change Communications, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, HIV/AIDS Awareness and Prevention, Children’s Rights Protection, Menstrual Hygiene Management and implementing programs that directly improve the well-being of the children and other vulnerable individuals.

CFIU works for the entire community’s development but special attention to marginalized people especially Children, Youth, Women and Adolescent girls responding to the most pressing needs.

Where we work from:

Kalungu District, a district in Central Uganda neighbored by Masaka, Bukomansimbi and Lwengo Districts.

Kalungu District covers a total area of land 811.6 Square Kilometer (313.4 sq. mi) with a population of over 177,200 people. Kalungu District has 5 sub counties, 33 parishes and 269 villages
