Checchi and Company Consulting, Inc. (Checchi) was established in 1973 by Vincent V. Checchi to promote social and economic development in developing and transitional countries around the world.  Since its inception, the company has completed more than 300 long-term contracts in a wide range of program areas in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe, including projects in many fragile and post-conflict states. Today the company specializes in rule of law, anti-corruption, and monitoring, evaluation and learning.

While the company’s practice areas have changed over the years, Vincent Checchi’s original vision continues to inspire and inform our work. We utilize a practical, results-oriented approach that emphasizes sustainable development, guided by our core values of integrity and commitment to excellence. Checchi staff members combine the technical expertise, depth of experience, cultural sensitivity and dedication needed to work effectively in some of the world’s most challenging development environments. Ultimately, we strive to improve people’s lives through outcomes that result in more just, stable and democratic societies.

Since launching one of the first international RoL practices in the late 1980s, Checchi has provided technical assistance and training to increase access to justice; improve court administration systems; strengthen justice sector institutions; support legislative and policy reform; improve judicial training and legal education; support security sector reform; strengthen civil society; and increase public awareness of justice sector reforms. The company has implemented anti-corruption projects focused on strengthening independent oversight institutions; improving the investigation and prosecution of corruption-related crimes; increasing government accountability and transparency; and promoting citizen participation and access to information.
