CRIDEF works in Bunyoro region with a mission to promote the survival, development, participation and protection of Orphans and other Vulnerable Children (OVC) in Uganda. Activities include; Advocacy.

Child Rights Development Foundation is a registered as Non-Governmental Organization founded in 2008. It is an all-inclusive organization established to respond to the needs of Children who are actively involved in a number of charitable activities such as supporting sustainable livelihood projects, for orphans and other vulnerable children OVC, Creating awareness on Oil and Gas,  Protection and  promotion of Land Rights,   youth, Human rights for women , girls advocacy , Participatory Governance, sustainable Agriculture ,Sexual and reproductive health including Hiv, Child –centred disaster risk reduction, Water sanitation and hygiene, and  to eliminate Child Labour through identifying interventions that are strategic to the alleviation of their plight and partnering with relevant Government and CSO to implement these interventions.

OURVISION: Is a “Society where all Children live a full life”

GOAL: Under the current strategic plan, running from 2018 to 2022 CRIDEF goal is to reach 20,000 orphans and other vulnerable children and their care givers with Interventions to reduce their Vulnerability and support promotion of Human Rights

Main Strategies

  1. CRIDEF has an established grass roots cluster based structure. These are self-help community groups composed of 30-60 OVC households; the largest number in each cluster being women.
  2. CRIDEF staff and community based trainers provide trainings, support supervision, and monitoring support to the cluster.
  • CRIDEF identifies Community based trainers (CBT’s) at sub-county level, trains them and provides them with community necessary facilitation. The key role of the CBT’s is to monitor, train and provide support supervision to the clusters. The CBT’s are residents of the selected sub-counties and therefore they are a continuous source of support to the community
