The Christian Council of Mozambique was founded in 1948 and it is composed of 24 different church denominations. I am currently the Programs Director, our work is based on human rights approach.

The Christian Council of Mozambique, hereinafter referred to as CCM, is a legal person with private legal and social interest, of a religious nature, with legal personality and administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy. The CCM represents a community of Churches in Mozambique that confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God the Savior, according to the Holy Scriptures, seeks to fulfill his vocation and other regulations and regulations applicable in the country. In pursuance of its social and statutory purposes, the Christian Council of Mozambique may associate itself with other national and foreign organizations or institutions with the same objectives and under the conditions set forth in the Law.

OBJECTIVES & PURPOSES

To facilitate the work and witness of the Churches, organizations and member institutions, as well as of other Christian and humanitarian organizations, with a view to fulfilling their social and statutory purposes; To promote common interests vis-à-vis the Mozambican State and national and international organizations; To promote cooperation with other religious and humanitarian institutions, in view of the common good of Mozambicans; To encourage the strengthening of the organizational and institutional capacity of communities to meet their basic needs and the development of a participatory community life; To facilitate the development of communities through Churches and related institutions in areas of social and religious interest; To promote actions that contribute to the maintenance of peace and harmony among people.

VISION AND MISSION

The CCM’s vision is to be an ecumenically strong and self-sustaining organization that facilitates the spread of the gospel with its social aspect.
The CCM’s mission is to serve the churches, member associations and communities through the expansion of the gospel and the promotion of social and economic justice in the light of the teachings of Jesus Christ (Matthew 25: 31-46).
