Collaborative Efforts to Alleviate Social Problems (CEASOP) is local NGO registered by the National Board of NGO Registration (Ministry of Internal Affairs- Uganda) and operational in Lango sub-region in Northern Uganda since July 1992.

The supreme decision making body is the General Assembly whose decisions are implemented by the Board of Directors Council supported by the Board of Advisors. The members of the General Assembly are elected from CEASOP’s 23 branches in Lango sub-region with composition of 43 Females and 44 Males.

Purpose of establishment:

  1. To impart knowledge and skills in income generating activities (vocational skills, high value crops and animal husbandry) to the vulnerable groups of people in the designated areas for improved livelihood.
  2. To improve the health condition of the community in the four sub-core programmes of health (HIV/Aids, safe motherhood, malaria control and reproductive health).
  3. To promote and facilitate sustainable land use, environment, safe water and sanitation.
  4. To provide humanitarian relief to community affected by conflicts and disasters.
  5. To promote human rights awareness, policy and monitoring development.

Since 2003, the project has cumulative total of 3,600 poorest of the poor households (represented by women) through self help groups (now supporting 180 self help groups).The project continues to support food security and enhancing

 

It has relatively raised the capacity of the poorest of the poor households to make use of technologies available to realize the full benefits of farming agriculture through encouraging and facilitating regular credit and savings activities amongst the self help groups.

 

Through “Support to Economic Activities for the Restoration of Communities and Households” (SEARCH) project in partnership with United States African Development Fund (USADF) provided agricultural implements and inputs to  vulnerable women.
