Community Relief and Development (CRD) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Butare-Huye District, Southern Province and officially registered with the Rwandan government (RGB Nº357/RGB/NGO/LP/11/2018). CRD strive to empower local community to drive and sustain their own development, healthcare, and environmental protection. CRD believes that to improve the life condition of the poor families in the community may prevent street children, improve their socio-economic matters and contribute to poverty reduction.

Economic development

  • Provide capacity building through various trainings to the local community which leads them to form and work in cooperatives.
  • Provide financial and technical support to the local community-based cooperatives.
  • Promote sustainable agricultural through cooperatives
  • Promote value chain development based on beneficiaries ‘activities
  • Promote environmental protection
  • Promote micro-business to women heads of families
  • Promote management of available resources of beneficiaries
  • Promote monitoring and evaluation

Education Development

  • Promote formal and informal education, especially vocational schools
  • Promote the integration and reintegration of vulnerable children into local schools
  • Provide training to youth about entrepreneurship
  • Promote ICT to the local community especially women

Social and Healthcare

  • Active listening and counseling
  • Fight against HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and other diseases
  • Promote social and family reintegration of street children
  • Fight against malnutrition in local community
  • Conduct campaigns intended to raise awareness of women on reproductive health and family planning
  • Conduct complains intended to raise awareness right of children

Abel is the potential member of the Legal Empowerment Network as the Executive Director of Community Relief and Development based in Rwanda (www.crd-rwanda.org ). About educational qualification, Abel’s PhD Candidate in the specialization of Theology and Development at Africa International University (AIU), Nairobi Kenya with Theological Master’s degree in Leadership development (USA) and bachelor’s degree of Rural and Community Development-Rwanda. He has both experiences in university teachings and community development as well. Academically, Abel is the part-time University Lecturer at Protestant Institute of Arts and Social Sciences (PIASS) from 2018. As developmental practitioner, Abel has a professional experience of 16 years working with various Non- Governmental Organization and Local Authorities in community transformation focusing on humanitarian activities, Advocacy (rights of Women&Children), managing conflicts, reconciliation, and development.
About academic skills, Abel has both background and experiences in Theological and development skills.

The potential candidate has developmental knowledge in Development tools and practices for community transformation; advanced knowledge in Theories of Development; Poverty and Development; Globalization, the poor and Christian mission;Managing conflicts, Theology& the sociology, politics, economics and life in Africa; Designing programme; Project planning, management ,monitoring and evaluation; Protestant Ethics of development; Entrepreneurship and Rural Development ( Microfinance and agribusiness, Creativity and technological innovation); economics; accounting; Financial management; demography; Anthropology; Group dynamics; Research Methods ( Theoretical frameworks of social science research, Research design and data collection, Data analysis and presentation; qualitative and quantitative research, research approaches, etc); Agriculture ( Agriculture economics, Agricultural policy reform, Agricultural finance); I applied Statistics; Applied mathematics; and other related social studies that develop the community. In addition, Abel is also has a background in Theological domain.

Abel is a hardworking, self-motivated, and responsible, quick-learner strong-minded and devoted to deliver quality results. Moreover, He has excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, the problem solver with divergent exposures in community development; Abel has also time management skills, high level of integrity, proactive. Abel also is excellent in English, French, and Fluent in Kinyarwanda as mother tongue. Briefly, Abel is serving as Transformational Development Practitioner promoting the rights of women and children in the communities of Rwanda with character of humility and comprehensive strategy aims to transform the communities especially vulnerable communities. In the communities of Rwanda, our activities that promote human rights in the CRD.
