The Community Right Initiative of Nigeria [CORIN] was founded in 2007 and was incorporated in May 2014 as a  non-profit national non-governmental, non-political and non-discriminatory organization with registration number CAC/IT/NO.69754 under section 36 of the Nigeria Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)  act 01 of 1990 (as amended).

The primary aim of CORIN is to increase the awareness of the society at large, collaborate with government institutions and the private sector to overcome the massive challenges people faced; transform the lives of less privileged persons who are on the edges of society to regain and pursue their dreams. Our activities are tailored to address community needs and wants and in collaboration with the communities using community structures and assets to ensure sustainability and ownership.

The organization has implemented activities addressing but not limited to: Advocacy, Girls Child Programs, capacity building, conflict management; Dissemination of the report on Gender disparity in Basic Education research findings carried out in Northern Nigeria by the British Council; Accredited CSO Observer Kano State Local Councils Elections-2021; Reproductive health/HIV/AIDS, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); Education (Out of schools & In-school Child), Human Rights issues, women participation in politics and economic empowerment.

MISSION

As a non- governmental organization with focus on ‘transforming the community for the betterment of all’ CORIN will design innovative community activities that would strengthen and or provides qualitative services of citizenship rights such as women & adolescent girls, democratic governance & conflict management, human right & gender issues, health & education, economic empowerment and environment to its target beneficiaries in collaboration with other organizations.

Profile Statement:
I am a seasoned community development worker with over 18 years of program management experience for non-profit organizations. I possess a Masters in Development Studies (MDS), a Postgraduate Diploma in Community Development, a Bachelor of Science (Geography), and a member of the Network of Consultants and Trainers. I am a founder of the Community Right Initiative of Nigeria [CORIN] registered non-governmental organization. I served as a State Program Manager for many development programs such as Educating Nigeria Girls in New Enterprises (ENGINE I & II) Programme, Kano State - a DFID funded project through Mercy Corps Nigeria (ie education and economic empowerment for marginalized adolescents girls in school and out of school), Improving Dietary Diversity among children 6-23 months in Kano state supported by UNICEF, Conflict management project funded by Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme (NSRP) etc. Currently, I am a programs development Consultant to Grassroots Micro Finance Bank (GMFB) and have served as a USAID-MARKETS II, Paths2 UKAID funded Health project among others. I am driven by a passion to contribute to programs that seek to improve the living conditions of people; based on the principles of value for money.

Work Experience:
 Facilitated and overseen adequate and timely implementation and documentation of all activities within the state;
 Ensure that the state captures and reports verifiable data by implementing data quality assurance protocols;
 The tracked state budget in line with the approved work plan; provided quality assurance for all activities at the state level; identify issues that affect intervention at the state level and achieve resolution;
 Supported capacity building including mentoring for 414 Learning Centre Facilitators (LCFs), 27 Master Trainers and team members on learner-centred Teaching Methodology (LCTM), Financial education, Life skills, Child protection, and Saving Groups at the state level to improve economic and learning outcomes of beneficiaries
 Community engagement of diverse stakeholders (public and private sectors, CAC, PTA, SBMC etc) and addressed marginalized adolescent girls' socio-economic and education challenges.
What I am looking for By Joining the Network:
I am looking for the person(s) and or organizations that we can collaborate to address the complex and inter-linked challenges (i.e. social injustice and inequality, gender based violence, inadequate skills, the perception of exclusion and marginalization) less privileged persons are facing in our communities; transform their lives who are on the edges of society to regain and pursue their dreams and sustain an environment of inclusiveness into governance for sustainable growth and development
