The Community Right Initiative of Nigeria [CORIN] was founded in 2007 and was incorporated in May 2014 as a  non-profit national non-governmental, non-political and non-discriminatory organization with registration number CAC/IT/NO.69754 under section 36 of the Nigeria Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)  act 01 of 1990 (as amended).

The primary aim of CORIN is to increase the awareness of the society at large, collaborate with government institutions and the private sector to overcome the massive challenges people faced; transform the lives of less privileged persons who are on the edges of society to regain and pursue their dreams. Our activities are tailored to address community needs and wants and in collaboration with the communities using community structures and assets to ensure sustainability and ownership.

The organization has implemented activities addressing but not limited to: Advocacy, Girls Child Programs, capacity building, conflict management; Dissemination of the report on Gender disparity in Basic Education research findings carried out in Northern Nigeria by the British Council; Accredited CSO Observer Kano State Local Councils Elections-2021; Reproductive health/HIV/AIDS, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); Education (Out of schools & In-school Child), Human Rights issues, women participation in politics and economic empowerment.

MISSION

As a non- governmental organization with focus on ‘transforming the community for the betterment of all’ CORIN will design innovative community activities that would strengthen and or provides qualitative services of citizenship rights such as women & adolescent girls, democratic governance & conflict management, human right & gender issues, health & education, economic empowerment and environment to its target beneficiaries in collaboration with other organizations.
