Enlighters Youth Initiative (EYI) is a self-help youth group registered on November 15, 2012. Its establishment was prompted by the necessity to address the various challenges affecting the youth, which is among the special group as stated by the Kenya Constitution, 2010. EYI believes that the youth is the future of a community and by empowering the youth, the community is enlightened and empowered. In the course of dispensing their mandates, it came out clearly that most of the problems faced by the youth is socio-economical in nature and require a holistic approach to address them; getting all stakeholders involved and broaden the focus to the community as a whole. Being based in Magadi, where the majority of its occupants are pastoralists, EYI narrows its focus more to the pastoralists communities more so the Maa speakers.

Mission statement: To promote and create an enabling environment to realize girl child and women rights, secure natural resources and livelihoods for sustainable development of pastoralist communities; mainly Maa speakers

Vision statement:  A just, empowered and equitable society that respect and uphold human rights of the indigenous people.

Core values: We value a rich humanistic tradition and committed to professional collaboration, community involvement, accountability, integrity and respect.
