The FDAPID-Hope for Indigenous Peoples came into existence in 1999 but its legal recognition took place on December 31, 2004.
Our organization continues as Vision “To see indigenous Pygmies become sedentary in human dignity by conserving their traditional knowledge, cultures and us”, in the Mission “to eradicate marginalization, discrimination and enslavement towards Pygmy Indigenous Peoples” “.

Our organization achieves the following objectives:
Contribute to the promotion and protection of the human rights of indigenous peoples Pygmies and vulnerable local communities;
Increase the socio-economic levels of indigenous Pygmies and vulnerable local communities to improve their living conditions for a better future;
Promote and promote the traditional and / or endogenous knowledge of indigenous Pygmy populations for their well-being;
Develop community environmental protection initiatives to preserve biodiversity and mitigate the impact of climate change.

In terms of geographic coverage, FDAPID operates mainly in the province of North Kivu specifically in the territories of Walikale, Masisi, Nyiragongo, Rutshuru and rural Goma (Mugunga and Lac Vert) but when the needs expressed by the Pygmy indigenous peoples in other areas, we intervene on everything urgent issues of advocacy and humanitarian and judicial assistance.
