We are a feminist organization working to advance women’s rights with a special focus on leadership and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. We promote equality and fight injustices towards women and girls.

We focus on building the collective voice, power, and influence of young women by strengthening their knowledge and skills to make informed choices, participate in decision making, mobilize and take collective action on issues affecting them. Our work on transformational, reproductive and gender justice is underpinned by transforming social norms and addressing unequal power relations, values and practices. We believe in amplifying women’s voices and  work in partnership with other key players as a sustainable approach and strategy to achieving our goals and objectives. GAL’s work primarily targets women and girls, while we work with policy makers, civic and traditional leaders, parents and guardians, men and boys, community gate keepers and other key stakeholders. Our Goal is to have a society in which all girls, young women and women freely enjoy their human rights and actively participate at all levels of decision making. Our Mission is to build and strengthen the knowledge and capacity of young women and foster an enabling social and policy environment in which they can meaningfully participate at all levels of decision making. We hold government and policy makers accountable for the implementation of national, regional and international commitments, and ensuring enactments, review and implementation of laws and policies that support women and girls’ participation in leadership and decision making and access to quality affordable information and services. We implement through capacity building and strengthening using Feminist Popular Education, leadership development, inter and intra generation dialogue and mentorship, community Engagement and work, policy engagement and advocacy, paralegal services, mentorship and Shadowing. Networking and partnerships
