Great Lakes Initiative for Human Rights and Development is National Non-Governmental Organisation that is registered in accordance to the Rwandan law.

It is a public interest organisation that work on Human Rights issues. Through the project ‘A grassroots based intervention to increase access to domestic, regional and international human rights mechanisms for ordinary people in Rwanda’ the organisation has been intervening in the issue of access to justice for three year now.

GLIHD’s activities are performed by a group of lawyers with a range of expertise from different legal backgrounds. It also uses Law students and graduates from different universities as part of academic or professional training. Its well structured organisational hierarchy makes the the work enjoyable and success.
