Humedica e.V. was founded by the visionary Mr. Wolfgang Gross in 1979 in Kaufbeuren (Bavaria), Germany. as an international non-profit humanitarian organization, it has been responding to medical and non-medical disaster emergencies in the world; which so far reached 90 countries by assisting millions of needy & vulnerable children and families regardless of their race, religion or gender. Thus, humedica aims to help people who suffer hardship due to disaster and structural poverty.

In Ethiopia, it was registered on February 22, 2010 by the then Charities and Societies Agency, as foreign Charity with registry number 1605; and now reregistered on July 8, 2019 as per the new Charities and Societies Organizations proclamation 1113/2019.

Humedica e.V, Ethiopia is a not for profit non-governmental charity organization. Since its foundation in 1979, humedica has been providing humanitarian aid with focus on disaster relief. Volunteers and local employees in individual project countries support Humedica worldwide. Humedica e.V, Ethiopia is a permanent member of the Humanitarian Aid Coordination Committee in the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany and a regular recipient of institutional and private funding. It was registered by ChSA on February 22/2010 as a Non- Profit Charity Organization. It has been engaged in health service assistance setting up fully equipped health posts, deploying heath staff, supplying medicine, and other medical supplies for refugees and returnees including host communities in Melkedida and Kobe surrounding localities in Somali regional State, since 2011.
