IFI Watch Myanmar is an organization that seeks to ensure democratic space for civil society and communities in the activities of International Financial Institutions [IFIs] in Myanmar. We seek to achieve this through facilitating dialogue between government, IFIs and local communities.

Vision:
A democratic governance of IFI operations in Myanmar; in order to realize inclusive development, economic justice and ecological sustainability and to ensure the meaningful involvement of the communities including decision making.
Objectives:
- People have effective access to information about IFI activities so that they can have an informed engagement
- Non-state actors and communities engage meaningfully with the IFIs and the government in shaping the design, decisions and outcomes of development programs that reflect their needs
- WB, ADB, AIIB and IFC are following their respective safeguard policies effectively.
Our Strategies:
- Awareness raising
- We provide communities with information on upcoming projects
- Community-based monitoring of joint government and IFI supported projects
- We train communities affected by IFI-supported projects in monitoring compliance or non-compliance with existing IFI safeguards
