Under the Ministry of Agriculture, the Institut Sénégalais de Recherche Agricole (ISRA) is responsible for conducting applied research to inform national agricultural and land policy. ISRA partners with a broad range of actors, from multilateral development institutions to local NGOs and producers’ unions, to document changes and trajectories in the rural economies. Researchers at ISRA use a wide range of methodologies, including participatory methods such as “théâtre forums”. ISRA recently worked with partners to hold a series of workshops with civil society groups to gather feedback on changes proposed in the current land tenure reform in Senegal.
