The Institute for Policy Evaluation and Research (IPER) delivers high quality research, learning, evaluation, and advocacy that directs development perspectives, improves knowledge, and fosters creative solutions to problems that impede societal improvement in developing countries. IPER is a nonprofit organization that concentrates on select areas in health, education, democratic governance, agriculture and the environment. The institute was established by young people who have participated in numerous research programs in Africa and have developed immense competence in research and would like to use their skills to contribute to solving Africa’s research and data needs.

IPER has a mission of ensuring that current and up-to-date statistics are at the heart of all national and regional development decisions, policies and practices in developing countries. This mission is deeply rooted in the vision that every development decision is based on accurate data and citizens are adequately informed about and involved in development planning and implementation.

Since establishment, IPER has been working to build strong ties with academic and research institutions in Africa and other developing countries around the world. These ties facilitate holistic implementation of projects and activities of the institute.

Our research and advocacy works are focused on ensuring that citizens of the developing world are provided with the best possible information that enables them to hold their leaders, governments, and policy makers to account for their stewardship of national duties and resources. With this desire, we place emphasis on the empowerment of women and young people who are mostly marginalized during development planning and implementation.
