The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya is the professional organization in this country that brings together the “landed” professionals. It brings together the disciplines of the surveying profession namely the Valuers, Land Surveyors, Geomatic Engineers, Registered Estate Agents, Property Managers, Building Surveyors, Land Administration Managers and Facilities Managers.

Our members are engaged in both the public and private sectors and are generally involved in the processes of land services delivery, formulation and implementation of land policies and management of land resources. As an Institution, our key objectives as per our constitution aim to promote professional ethical performance of services rendered by our members and also to ensure that our members actively contribute towards the development of national and international policies, strategies and plans for land management in a sustainable manner.

The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya was inaugurated by 44 founding members on 17th April 1969 and subsequently registered on 12th August 1969 as a body corporate under the Societies Act. The ISK logo was registered on 20th December 1969 as a “Coat of Arms” or “Grant of Arms” under the College of Arms Act. The logo contains the motto ‘kupima na kukadiria’ (to measure and estimate).

The Institution has over the years maintained a cordial relationship and dialogue with the government and non-government agencies and comply with the various legislations and other related laws. It has further continued to operate in such a manner that ensures it performs its role as instrument of development of the surveying profession for the benefit of its members and members of the community.

The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) is a land sector professionals organization made up of Valuers, Land Surveyors, Geomatic Engineers, Registered Estate Agents, Property Managers, Building Surveyors, Land Administration Managers and Facilities Managers. Current membership stands at around 2000 spread throughout the Country.
