We stand for the right of Indigenous Peoples to govern themselves; recognizing the legitimacy of the different forms of struggle and self-determination that Indigenous Peoples opt to employ.

Focus: Community / Customary Land Rights, Environmental Justice, Other, Peace-building & Transitional Justice, Policy Advocacy

The International Indigenous Peoples Movement for Self Determination and Liberation (IPMSDL) is a global network of Indigenous Peoples rights activists, advocates, and organizations committed to advancing the rights of Indigenous Peoples to self-determination, land and life.

We at IPMSDL will work to:

1. Develop IPMSDL’s capacity as the international center of Indigenous Peoples campaigns and struggles for self-determination and liberation

2. Strengthen the capabilities of IPMSDL’s member organizations to launch campaigns for Indigenous Peoples rights and welfare

3. Inform and educate more people globally regarding Indigenous Peoples struggles and resistance

4. Promote networking and solidarity between member organizations, between the member and non-member organizations, and between Indigenous Peoples rights advocates of indigenous and non-indigenous descent

5. Strengthen ties and linkages between Indigenous Peoples rights advocates and organizations and other advocates and organizations promoting other sectors’ rights and welfare.

6. Influence national, regional and international bodies to enact policies and mechanisms that will ensure and safeguard indigenous peoples rights and welfare
