Founded in 2008, Justice for All Organization (JFAO) works to strengthen the rule of law and expand access to justice for indigent women in Afghanistan. JFAO also trains women about their constitutional and social rights, preparing them for leadership roles within Afghanistan’s legal and political sectors. We also advocate for changes in discriminatory laws, and train legal practitioners in violence against women cases.

Our pioneering programs are Legal Aid Bureaus in Kabul and Kundoz provinces, Afghanistan, which serve to provide free legal services to indigent women and girls, raise awareness of legal rights in the surrounding communities, and serve as a resource center for lawyers and others hoping to strengthen the rule of law and women’s rights in Afghanistan.

JFAO is led by Afghan women; our staff are thus intimately aware of the challenges Afghan women face and the most effective ways to solve them. What sets JFAO apart is our focus on advocating for women’s rights through the law; this approach serves the dual purpose of rebuilding the justice system, a vital institution that has been decimated by years of war, and also empowering women.
