Focus: Gender-based violence

The purpose of this proposed project is to enhance alertness of gender-based violence and HIV/AIDS and its effects by conducting awareness, outreach and training activities in four counties in Nyanza Region, with main focus in Siaya and later Homabay and Kisumu and Migori respectively. This will be carried with primary and secondary school students, teachers, PTA members, out of school youth, members of CBOs, youth-sports clubs and local community members.

This will be achieved by series of group sessions of one hour each with 16 classes in 4 schools (one primary and one secondary in each of the three counties)  with children below eighteen years old at the primary level and secondary level. Community awareness work without of school youth, people living with disability, youth groups, sports clubs and elderly in the three identified counties. A two day peer educator training workshop for 32 students; a two day peer educators training or facilitator workshop for 20 teachers and 4 PTA members and a two day community leaders workshop for 16 leaders from the 4 counties.
