The organisation focus area is basically in Koraput district of Odisha, India. At present the Association is intensively working in 154 Villages of four Blocks of Koraput district.

Koraput Farmers’ Association (KFA) was established in the year 2000- 2001in order to bring a qualitative change in socio-economic status of marginalized communities of the district of Koraput. At present the association is working in four Blocks namely Koraput, Lamtaput, Nandapur and Semiliguda covering 23 gram panchayats. The association has been focusing its interventions on providing the necessary support to the farming community, especially the tribals so that their livelihoods are protected and promoted in a sustainable way.  Besides, the association also works in the field of elementary education and Persons with Disabilities (PwD), environmental laws. The major strategy of the KFA is to mobilize, organize and empower the community to work for sustainable solutions to their age old and emerging problems. In the process of mobilizing and organizing community the KFA has been working in close coordination and tandem with various Govt. and Non Govt. Agencies. KFA strongly believes that it can only work as a catalyst where people have to take the responsibility of their own development.

VISION

“We will see a Koraput where the vulnerable and marginalized communities live in a healthy and self reliant society. People exercise their rights without fear and favor and live with dignity without exploitation and discrimination.”

MISSION

  • To empower the small and marginalized farmers and built up their capacity through training, exposure, demonstration, and to organize and involve them in decision making process.
  • To enhance the living condition of the communities especially tribal, women, small and marginal farmers,
  • To create an opportunity for marketing of agricultural products by Empowering farmers’ organization (FOs)
  • To improve the education standard of the children in rural areas through different alternative education systems
