Lawyers 4 Farmers (L4F) is a social justice enterprise for farmer’s rights discourse and legal initiatives. We are a group of women lawyers and social activists committed to informing, educating and empowering farmers on their legal rights cutting across all livelihood areas and economic empowerment. L4F offers public interest litigation services, conducts legal awareness trainings, and engages in policy level interventions, and public campaigns in order to benefit farmers with a focus on women’s access to justice.
At L4F, we believe that there needs to be a change in the status quo with; consistent increased government spending on agriculture, capacity building of small scale subsistence farmers to prepare them for commercial farming, financial institutions and insurance company support to farmers, trusted government agricultural institutions and a removal of legal barriers especially around land use that affect progress for women.
We are driven by the vision of a world where farmers, in particular women, earn with dignity and generate wealth and value for their households. We work across religious and social divides to enable farmers start, structure and manage their farm businesses for increased productivity and long term profitability.

Objective: Under the overarching theme of access to justice for farmers our objectives are;
-To enable farmers to navigate the complexities of the law
-To ensure the rights of farmers are protected by providing legal counsel, legal representation and innovative legal strategies on rights awareness
-To ensure that no discriminatory laws are passed against smallholder farmers by initiating public interest litigation and policy level interventions.
