My name is Sunday Acha the National Director of LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION FOUNDATION a grass root based non - governmental organization with a strong team of professional and Volunteers drawn from different fields of specialization. I hold Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship with many years of leadership experience in the private and public sector. Presently, i work with many Secondary Schools in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria in assisting to provide vocational and technical skills to adolescent girls majority of which have been denied access to school by their parents, their religion and cultural practices. Majority of the teenage and adolescent girls in Northern Nigeria are forced into early marriage at ages 10 to 15 when they are not even aware of their personal sexual life and tenets of marriage. This tradition that has disenfranchised the girls from active participation in meaningful economic activities and exercise of their civic and political rights has been difficult to break. However, with the passion and courage to liberate this huge wasting population of potential workforce, we have been able to record a landslide progress by our engagement with the critical stakeholders in developing a multi strategy approach. My involvement with Legal Empowerment Network will greatly upscale my capacity and competence in managing diverse, cross cultural issues and multi religious conflicts relating to Child Rights in Nigeria especially with the contemporary development in the country at the moment. Our NGO is sincerely looking forward to work with local and international organizations that boost her ability to accomplish her vision and mission in terms of sharing knowledge, developing skills and changing lives of people. LEN have many things in common with our organization. Our interest and goals are very similar. It is on this note i am convinced that LEN is the right partner for us. The knowledge and information from this forth coming training program will immensely help our advocacy and child protection activities in our community.
