Light youth group cbo is a civil society organization from rural and fisher-folk set organization formed by three individuals whom came out to address the minority rights at the rural set. arIts a registered organization with the ministry of Gender and social services in kenya as Light youth group cbo with total membership of 30people and serving over 3000clients across siaya county. This was realized in the year 2011 when the minorities faced different evictions by landlord, harassed by local administrators and beach leaders, we lacked health services and faced stigma and discriminations. From the perpetrators. Being that we are near boarder of Kenya and Uganda, the Uganda administration always charge people without trial after thoroughly beaten this has caused many to loose their lives in water while performing fishing activity which is our day to day activity and only source of income. The organization currently has 16 competent staffs and three volunteers. We have different partiners like.Kisped,Tugutuke jamii,Pictures,Myspace alliance,Siaya feminist[siayalbq].We focused on Universal health rights, universal human rights, legal empowerment, Economic empowerment and Instutional development. We also have Donors whom have supported our activities like Open Society Initiative for East Africa[OSIEA] through michael helflin we receive farm, inputs,UHAI-EASHRI,PEPFAR-through Impact Research and Development organization[IRDO]Center for Disease Control [CDC]-through center for health solution.

Am Philip Aduonga my gender identity is male and my sexual orientation is Bisexual i live in western kenya, am single and searching I like making friends and learning from others i always work with minimal supervision and one of core founder of Light youth group cbo in the year 2011 currently i work as administrator in our organization. Following the challenges we are facing at the ground in the rural area where we come where cultural beliefs has dominates I decided to join the network so that i can gain more knowleged concerning sexual minorities through discussion. To interact more with people so that our voices can be hard right from the rural areas. For the past years many donors has neglected the sexual minorities people living in the rural areas only to focus on urban and semi urban centers not knowing that the minorities face different violations directly at their home areas this is because there is a lot of negligence and belief that the sexual minorities persons only exist in town and cities. Most of the policy makers lack knowhow about LGBTI,SEX WORKERS,MSM,PWIDs and many other key population communities. We are the only committed organization working and targeting this population but we lack resources to help us facilitate different activities. In the fisherfolk sector almost 88% of the population are illiterates and need to be sensitized on human rights components and legal action when once right is violated.
