Founded in 2019, MDI works to transform the way the world deals with conflict – away from adversarial approaches and towards collaborative problem-solving. We operate in the northeast and north central Nigeria we have worked in collaboration with BAHRN to implement one element of the country’s strategy that revolves around promoting peacebuilding in areas of tension. This project falls firmly into this category, while other major projects deal with mitigating violence in Bauchi, Plateau, and Gombe State and supporting the reintegration of ex-combatants in Gombe with consensus-based advocacy training, public communications training, media training and production, and the facilitation of dialogue processes. We combine these tools in innovative ways to engage all levels of society.

MDI has partnered with the Bauchi state Human Right Network (BAHRN) in collaboration with both local and international organizations and also the government, traditional institutions, and faith-based organizations in the attainment of its goal and objectives. My work experience in Project management, monitoring, and programming, of community conflict and health facilities, Gender, Research coordination, community mobilization, and engagement with international NGOs in various states in Northern Nigeria in various capacities has prepared me to deliver in the available position. I am currently working as a Program Manager at Mukya Development Initiative, I was the program manager, Team Lead, and Gender and Child welfare Officer on Save the Children's REACH project funded by Global Affairs Canada. I have in the past worked with the Centre for Integrated Health Programs USAID/PEPFAR HIV/AIDS/OVC project as a program officer. Also as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer on nonformal Education (Education in Emergency USAID) project, Desk Officer (Palliative care service for Orphans and vulnerable children)ARFH (Association for Reproductive and Family Health), and Institute of Human Virology in Nigeria (IHVN) projects.
Over the years, I have developed, management, Monitoring, and evaluation, and Gender integration skills that have enhanced my ability in project implementation, obtaining and analyzing data, and leading multidisciplinary and multicultural teams to deliver programs for impact effectively. I have effective communication and interpersonal skills with good human relations and collaborate well with others in the team. I am very fluent in English, Hausa, and Tula languages (verbal and written).
Mukya Development Initiative (MDI) is an upcoming organization that is registered with the state ministry of youth and is working on completing registration with relevant Nigeria authorities, it is a non-Governmental, non-religion, and non-political aimed at promoting Human Rights, Good Governance, and Peacebuilding working in Nigeria, North East, and North Central Nigeria since 2019 contributing to the promotion of free and equitable society with respect for human value and dignity for sustainable development through strategic partnership.
MDI takes faith, gender, and ethnic considerations into account, in order to ensure that equity and peace are promoted within and between different identities.
