I hold a BA Hons from the University of the Western Cape, and MA of Social Sciences from the University of Pretoria. Currently working as Policy and Research Co-ordinator at Nadcao.
I am from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), born in Bukavu (East-DRC).
I have been a Human Rights activist since the early 2000s in DRC. My organisation was amongst the CSOs selected to be part of the DRC negotiations between belligerents in Sun City. The dialogue culminated in the "Global agreement" that paved the way to a peaceful transition in 2003.
As student, I have participated in various academic endeavours. I also created a forum for refugee students. As professional, I have more than ten (10) years of experience working within the CSO sector, the private sector and the academia.
By joining the network, my desire is to learn and to share experiences with other organisations working at grassroots level of communities and to be part of global initiatives on access to Justice.

Ms Nomboniso Nangu Maqubela was the Director of the National Alliance for the Development of Community Advice Offices (Nadcao) in South Africa. Nadcao advocated for the sustainability of community advice offices in South Africa and their efforts to improve access to justice for marginalised communities. In 2013, she was part of a delegation that represented the Community Advice Office (CAO) sector in Parliament to argue for the inclusion of the community-based paralegals in the Legal Practice Bill, and in 2014, the Legal Practice Act was assented which included a clause that would ensure the regulation of paralegals within two years of establishment of the Legal Practice Council. Nomboniso passed on in 2017.
