Annet is a 28 year old human rights activist and an advocate of the courts of Judicature of Uganda.

She is currently working as a legal officer with National Center for States Courts in Uganda. She has previously served as a Legal Officer with the Center for Reparation and Rehabilitation and as Legal Assistant at War Child Canada.

Annet has also worked as a consultant for the Federación Internacional de Abogadas (FIDA) Uganda and Action Aid International where she conducted community dialogues on women’s land and property rights, carried out mobile legal aid clinics, and trained paralegals, law enforcement officers and local leaders on the land rights of women and children.

Her areas of expertise include: conflict mitigation; enhancing access to justice for the vulnerable and marginalized groups (such as women, children and the youth); civil society and democracy; human rights advocacy; and the monitoring and investigation of rights violations.

She holds a post graduate diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Center in Kampala and a Bachelors of Laws from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda.

Annet looks forward to sharing knowledge and learning from people who are passionate about enhancing accessing to justice for the vulnerable community.

Currently working in National Center for States Courts (NCSC) as Legal Coordinator for USAID's Justice for All Program (Women in Justice Initiatives). The main objective of this initiative is to mobilize women judges and legal professionals, empower female leaders, and encourage young law students to embrace careers in the judiciary and legal professions. My previous working area covers Child Rights, Access to Justice, Unsafe Migration, Providing Legal Service at the Grassroots Level etc. I have worked with Nagorik Uddyog, Bangladesh Women Lawyers Association and Judges Court. In terms of education, I have completed my post- graduation in Law (LL.M) from Chittagong University and also enrolled as Advocate at the Judges Court.
